The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow is an autonomous public business school in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. IIM Lucknow was established in 1984 and is currently a centrally funded institution. It is the fourth Indian Institute of Management to be established after IIM-Calcutta, IIM-Ahmadabad and IIM-Bangalore. IIM-L also serves as the mentor institution for the newly establishes IIM Rohtak and IIM-Kashipur.
The institute is on a 200-acre site and is in Prabandh Nagar on the northern outskirts of Lucknow. It is at 21 kilometres from Lucknow Railway Station and 31 kilometres from Lucknow Airport. IIM-L also has a city office at Aliganj. IIM-Lucknow’s Noida Campus is spread over 20 acres in Sector-62, NOIDA. It has a second campus at Noida exclusively for executive education, In 2005, IIM Lucknow established a second campus at Noida leveraging its proximity to Delhi. The Noida campus was established exclusively for executive education. IIM Lucknow is the first IIM in the country to start an additional campus.

Established as a not for profit organization for achieving the objectives set forth in its constitution, IIML AA endeavours to promote communication and closer relationships amongst its members in accordance with the principle of mutual benefit.
Some of the specific objectives of the association are to promote advancements of the science of management and management education and also endeavour to assist IIM Lucknow in achieving the objectives for which it has been established.
Additionally, the association supports activities benefiting alumni, faculty, staff and students of IIM Lucknow.
Where possible through its activities, IIML AA also strives to mobilize the necessary processional expertise and other resources of and through its members for needy sections of society.
MEMBERSHIP Primary Membership of the IIM Lucknow Alumni Association is open to the following categories of individuals associated with IIM Lucknow. Primary Membership is for life.
Any person who has received a degree or a diploma awarded and recognized by the Institute as being eligible for Primary Membership. This includes among others the PGP, WMP and Fellow Program of IIM Lucknow.
Any person who has participated in a program conducted by the Institute either singly or in collaboration with any other Institute, provided the participants of such program as certified by the Directory of the Institute and President of the Association are eligible for membership of the association.
Any person who is or was formerly a member of the faculty.
IIM Lucknow conducts regular two-year diploma program in management, one-year executive MBA program, fellowship program and short-term MDP programs. The management programmes of IIM Lucknow are accredited by London-bases AMBA association.
The courses are taught under 11 diverse disciplines of Business Environment, Communication, Decision, Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Information Technology and Systems, Strategic Management, Agribusiness Management and Legal Management. Students are trained in management using lectures, case studies, projects, workshops, management games and role-plays under a rigorous syllabus. They are evaluated based on examinations, projects, quizzes, presentations, and class participation under a relative grading system. Academic learning is supplemented by live projects, management competitions, guest lectures, and interactions with alumni and industry leaders organised by committees. Students get a chance to provide consultancy to companies and get paid.
The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGPABM), and Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGPSM) are full-time residential diploma courses. These are two-year programs, with the first year stretching from June to March in three ten-week trimesters, after which students undergo a two-month summer internship with a company or organisation. The specialisations offered in the second year are Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Systems, Strategy and Economics while the PGPABM course students specialise in Agribusiness. Course of independent study and dissertation are available based on merit.
The International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX) is a one-year, full-time MBA programme for executives, offered at IIM Lucknow's Noida campus. It only admits candidates with a minimum of five years professional experience. The course consists of four 10-week terms including a two- to three-week stint at a partner university
The Working Managers' Programme (WMP), offered at the Noida campus, is an MBA programme designed for working executives having a minimum of three years professional experience. It consists of nine terms that stretches for 27 months.
Management Development Programmes (MDP) are tailor made programs to train executives in specific industry, government, and non-governmental organisations. These programs, which typically last three to five days, are customised by subject or target group. Around 50 to 60 programs are conducted every year. A one-year General Management program is offered through virtual classroom. As a combined initiative with the Ministry of Defence, a six-month General Management Programme is conducted for Defence officers to assist their career transition to the corporate sectors.
Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a four-year Doctoral programme in Management started in 2000. Candidates with master's degrees or Engineering undergraduate degrees are eligible for admission While the mandatory course work is undertaken in the first year and specialisation in the second year, the research thesis starts in the beginning of third year after a comprehensive examination. Students who have completed PGDM from any of the IIMs are admitted directly to the second year. The specialisations offered are Decision
Sciences, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources Management, Information Technology and Systems, Marketing Management, Operations Management and Strategic Management. The institute does not charge tuition fees for fellowship program in addition to providing free hostel facility.
As a part of student exchange programs, students spend a three-month term in a foreign university in October to December in their second year. Every year around 50 students of IIM Lucknow are selected for the exchange programs based on merit, while around 30 foreign students come to IIM Lucknow.
IIM Lucknow has student exchange relationships with 24 leading B-schools in Europe, USA, Canada, Singapore, and China. The Dual Degree Program, offered in association with the ESCP Europe business school in France, awards degrees from both institutes after students spend a year in each. About four or five students are selected each year for the program. Students, after completing two trimesters (July–September and October–December) at IIM Lucknow, spend two semesters (January–May and September–December) at ESCP Europe's Paris campus and return to IIM Lucknow to complete the final term from January to March.
Admission to the post graduate programs and fellowship program is done through the Common Admission Test (CAT), which is jointly conducted by the IIMs in the month of November every year. Applications are shortlisted based on CAT scores, scholastic achievement and work experience. The weightage given for each of these components varies each year. The candidates are called for group discussions and personal interviews, conducted in cities in India in the months of February and March. The final selection is based upon the performance in CAT, scholastic achievement, work experience, performance in group discussion, and personal interview. Admissions to the IPMX program are done based on GMAT score, work profile and personal interview. Admission to the WMP program is done based on GMAT score or a competitive written examination conducted by IIM Lucknow. The short listed candidates based on GMAT or the written examinations go through Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview (WAT & PI) to get final selection

Uniquely designed medi-care facilities, perhaps the only of its kind in the country, provides a flexible structure of medi-care support through in house medical officers, dispensary with a network of associated hospitals and giving option to employees for reimbursement of Medi claim insurance to take care of hospitalisations and other related expenses.
The Media and Communication Cell (MCC) serves as a communications liaison between the institute and the external world. This student committee's mission is to ensure that all the student activities and initiatives at IIM Lucknow find quality space in print, electronic and social media. Synapse, a student committee, develops and maintains IT applications for the institute community.
"Manfest-Varchasva" is IIM Lucknow's annual management, sports and cultural festival held in November. The three-day event hosts many management contests, leadership summits, and other inter college quizzes and sports and cultural competitions INDEX is an annual fair conducted by students at the Colvin Taluqdars' college grounds, attended by the general public of the city.] Game stalls are set up at the fair to carry out disguised market research. Samvit, the annual leadership summit of IIM Lucknow witnesses some of the financial leaders and economists of the country with whom students get an opportunity to interact.
"Just Tea" and "Gossip and Bite" are two restaurants in the campus that were started as student ventures and are sold to the next cohort every year. The Entrepreneurship Cell conducts a competition called "Bizness", where all participants are given a seed capital of ₹2000 to run any business in the campus for two days and earn profits.] The student committee "Credence Capital" runs a mutual fund, in which other students of the batch can invest.] The Mess (Annapoorna) is entirely run and managed by students, with the infrastructure provided by the institute and is continually ranked best mess among all IIM's.
A classical cultural night "Aarohan" is organised by the IIM Lucknow chapter of SPIC MACAY in the month of August. It showcases live shows of classical arts including carnatic, hindustanic, folk, instrumental and classical Indian dances. The institute's dance club "Random Walk" organises dance workshops regularly and performs stage shows during major festivals. The dramatics club "Abhivyakti" performs stage plays and street plays in Hindi and English. The Intracollege sports event called as Sikander is held throughout the year in a league format. The institute sports team participates in most of the popular college sports meets including the Inter-IIM Meet (Sangharsh) held during January every year.
Udyam, an annual industry-academia interaction summit is held at the Noida campus of IIM Lucknow. This event provides a platform where eminent personalities from corporate world & academia can exchange ideas that are going to shape the future of India Inc.
MANJUNATH SHANMUGAM TRUST-5th death Anniversary Memorial The Trust has instituted the Manjunath Shanmugam Integrity Award to honor and encourage persons or institutions who are working to uphold the values of truth and honesty in Indian corporate, government or public life. The award carries a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh. The first award was given in 2007. The first Award was presented to Prof. R.P Singh, Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University, by N.R Narayana Murthy; the second to Akhil Gogoi, a grass roots activist from Golaghat, Assam, by Dr.Kiran Bedi; the third to Mr. Sanjiv Chaturvedi, IFS officer, Haryana, Development Association for Human Advancement – DEHAT, Voluntary Organization working in backward villages of Bahraich district situated at Indo-Nepal Border and Mr. Vinod Adhau, village revenue officer, Gawandgao revenue circle of Anajangao Surji taluka of Amaravati district, by Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Ms. Aruna Roy.
HARMONY CUP Harmony Cup, the Annual Fund Raising tournament of IIM Lucknow, was organized successfully from 14th – 17th November, 2010, by Bhavishya, the Social Initiatives Committee of IIM Lucknow. Harmony Cup is a cricket tournament with 30 student teams, including teams from various committees of IIM-L, competing against each other. The entire funds raised are used for various social causes. This year the funds will be used for helping the NGO ‘Baccho Ki Duniya’ to setup a school for underprivileged children and to develop the infrastructure at the orphanage, Rajkriya Balgriha. The sponsors for this year were Midnight Bakers, Subway, Pizza Hut and N-Arkx Engineers and Consultants. Special mention must be made of Team Pulse who contributed generously for the event.
NIRVAAN 2010 – IIM Lucknow’s Annual Entrepreneurial Summit The Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Lucknow successfully conducted NIRVAAN 2010, the Annual Entrepreneurship summit, on 14th November 2010 at IIM Lucknow. NIRVAAN 2010, with the theme “Ideation, Innovation, Inclusion”, had generated enough inquisitiveness amongst the Student community to come up with Business ideas not only for their individual success but for the society as a whole. Through NIRVAAN 2010 the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIML provided a unique opportunity for the prospective and budding entrepreneurs by bringing them in contact with Venture Capitalists, Investors, Mentors, experienced Entrepreneurs and brightest brains of the country.
SPICMACAY presents – Flute for the soul The locals of Lucknow and the IIM Lucknow community were in for an enchanting experience at the flute recital by the internationally renowned exponent of flute, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia held at the Colvin-Taluqdar College Grounds on 20th November 2010. The concert was organized by Index 2010 in association with SPICMACAY, IIM Lucknow Chapter. Pt. Chaurasia’s concert was the biggest highlight of Index 2010, IIM Lucknow’s 16th edition of the biggest marketing research event of the country.
IIM Lucknow presents Samvit – the Annual Leadership Summit Samvit – the Annual Leadership Summit of IIM Lucknow began on a propitious note today. The theme for this year’s summit is “Financial Regulation & Development in India: Challenges & Prospects”. The premier institute hosted Dr. Subir Gokarn, Deputy Governor Reserve Bank of India to unveil the theme for Samvit on the 13th of November. The main event for this year’s Samvit is the panel discussion which is scheduled to be held on the morning of Sunday 28th of November.
Film-making at IIM Lucknow A major part in the success of the Indian film industry has been played by the distributors and marketers, who work behind the scenes to ensure the movies reach the target audience, said Mr Utpal Acharya. Mr Acharya, who heads Distribution & Acquisition at Reliance Pictures, held an interactive session on Marketing in the Film and Entertainment Industry at IIM Lucknow. The session was organized by the Media and Communication Cell of IIM Lucknow and attended by students eager to know how this glamorous industry functions.
Anjuman – The Corporate Luncheon IIM Lucknow’s annual business conclave hosted Anjuman, the corporate luncheon today. The event endeavors to bring together students, industry stalwarts for an informal interaction over a sumptuous Nawabi lunch. Based on the theme “Innovate, implement and inspire: Build a legacy”, Anjuman took lessons from institutions and individuals who have persevered and prospered across tumultuous times to build a lasting legacy. Fittingly, this year marks the 25th anniversary of Manfest.
SAMVIT 2017- The Annual Leadership Summit Continuing its rich legacy of bringing together global leaders under one roof, Industry Interaction Cell of IIM Lucknow successfully conducted Samvit – The Annual Leadership Summit on 11th February. The theme for this year’s Samvit was “Classroom to Boardroom,” which focussed on bridging the gap between industry and academia. The event saw participation from students and faculty members of IIM Lucknow and various other colleges in and around the city.
