IPMAT Indore Selection Process

IIM Indore will be conducting the IPMAT exam for admission to the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). It is designed for students who have completed their 12th/Higher Secondary education or equivalent and want to pursue a career in management. In this article we will be sharing the IPMAT Indore Selection Process 2024.

IIM Indore’s IPM programme is a cross-disciplinary management programme that offers a blended course of management studies from undergraduate to postgraduate levels. It comprises of 15 terms spread over 5 years, including internship assignments at the conclusion of each academic year. The programme is divided into two halves. The first portion is dedicated to foundation courses, while the second is dedicated to management courses. For students, the first three years of the course reflect the BBA Course, while the latter two years represent the MBA Course. After successfully completing the complete 5-year programme, students will be given a B.A (Foundation in Management) + MBA degree. IPMAT Indore Eligibility Criteria 2024

IPMAT Indore Selection Process

Candidates who meet the following requirements are eligible for the IPMAT Indore Selection Process.

  • Age: The applicant must have been born on or after August 1, 2003 (5 years for candidates from the SC/ST/PwD categories born on or after August 1, 1998).
  • Qualifying Exam: The candidate must have passed Standard XII/HSC or an equivalent test in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023.
  • Minimum Percentage (%) of Marks: students must have a minimum of 60% in standard X/SSC and standard XII/ HSC or comparable examinations (55% for SC/ST/ PwD students).

IIM Indore IPMAT Application Process

In order to begin the IPMAT Indore selection process, eligible candidates should submit their application online during the application period Monday, March 6, 2023 to Friday, April 14, 2023 (for IPMAT 2023) and pay the online non-refundable/non-transferable IPMAT application fee as mentioned below:

IIM Indore IPMAT Application Fee:

Candidates belonging to the NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories must produce valid Caste certificate(s) in support of their reservation category, and candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must produce a valid document proving the candidate’s eligibility to apply under the EWS category. Once the application has been filed, no changes to the category will be considered in the IPMAT Indore selection process.

IPMAT Indore Selection Process 2024

The IPMAT Indore selection process 2024 will be carried based on the candidate’s overall performance in the IIM Indore Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) exam and Personal Interview (PI). Any applicant who does not appear in AT or PI, or both, will not be considered for selection. The following is the IIM Indore selection process, which involves 5 stages:

Stage 1 : IIM Indore IPMAT Application
Candidates who meet the minimal eligibility requirements should submit their IIM Indore IPMAT application online.

Stage 2 : Appear for the IIM Indore IPMAT Exam
Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be called for the Aptitude Test (AT), which will be held in 35 cities across the country, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Meerut, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Roorkee, Siliguri, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam. However, if the scenario demands, IIM Indore maintains the right to alter the cities/centers or cancel the centre at any moment.

IPMAT Indore Exam Pattern 2024

The IPMAT Indore exam pattern for IPMAT Indore Selection Process will be as follows:

  • The Aptitude Test will consist of three sections: Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA), and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).
  • Each question will be worth four marks.
  • There will be a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer, with the exception of the Quantitative Ability (SA) Section (which will not have any negative marking).
  • The AT will be structured as under:

Stage 3 : PI Shortlisting
At this level, only applicants with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three components of the Aptitude Test are considered for Stage 4, which is shortlisting for the Personal Interview (PI). The Admissions Committee will determine the minimum cut off mark in each section. The minimal cut off mark in each part will be determined by the applicant categories. Individual regret letters will not be sent to rejected candidates at this point.

Stage 4 : PI Round
At this level, only applicants with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three components of the Aptitude Test are considered for Stage 4, which is shortlisting for the Personal Interview (PI). The Admissions Committee will determine the minimum cut off mark in each section. The minimal cut off mark in each part will be determined by the applicant categories. Individual regret letters will not be sent to rejected candidates at this point.

Stage 5 : Final Selection

Only applicants who meet the conditions outlined in previous rounds will be considered for the final selection. Based on the Composite Score (CS), a category-wise merit list will be prepared, and provisional admission offers will be given in accordance with the Government of India reservation guidelines.

Candidates who are not chosen for the final offer will not be notified.

Reservations for Candidates applying for IPMAT Indore 2024

IPMAT Selection Process

As per Government of India requirement, 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC), 15% for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).

The categories of disability are:

a) blindness and low vision,
b) deaf and hard of hearing,
c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy,
d) autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness,
e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d)

The applicable Central Government list as of the last date of IPMAT registration shall be binding for the purpose of being considered for reservations, and candidates are required to submit valid documents signed by the competent authority to ascertain the eligibility status to apply under the reserved category (NC-OBC/SC/ST/EWSs/ PwD). There will be no more adjustments for IPMAT 2023 or any future IIM Indore selection procedure.

Before applying, candidates who fall into one of the reserved groups should take notice of and thoroughly study the qualifying conditions. It should be noted that, while IIM Indore strives to ensure that candidates from the NC-OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PWD categories join the programme in the proportions mandated by law, they must also meet the eligibility criteria and a certain level of performance to be considered for admission.

Please keep in mind that the sanctioned intake for the IPM 2023 batch (Domestic Applicant) is 150.

IPM students who successfully completed the IPM curriculum in 2022 were awarded the degree during the Institute’s 23rd Convocation on April 9, 2022.

Candidates who attempt to apply with minor modifications in information and/or facts to more than one and/or several applications will be immediately rejected and excluded from further selection process.
