Passage 1
In a first in the private sector, two facilities for the manufacture of ammunition and missiles were opened by Adani Defence and Aerospace on February 26.
The twin-facility complex, spread over 500 acres, was inaugurated by Army Chief Gen. and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Speaking at the event, it was said 32 variants of ammunition in 12 categories were identified for manufacture by the Indian industry in phase one. “All cases are likely to fructify in the next one year, as per the envisaged timelines. Approval has been already obtained for five additional ammunition categories to be developed in phase two,” Gen. Pande said on the ammunition indigenisation plan.

Passage 2
Sweden’s final hurdle to joining NATO was swept away on February 26 after hold-out’s ratification, ending 200 years during which Stockholm’s military self-reliance helped it build a global brand as neutral peacemaker and human rights champion.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 left Swedes with a pivotal choice: join NATO or run the risk of standing alone against an increasingly aggressive near neighbour.
NATO membership might seem uncontroversial, but some Swedes worry it signals a fundamental shift in identity.
