THE NECESSARY PAIN OF HARD WORK AND GROWTH
You Can’t crack a competitive exam like CAT, IIT etc in India being in your comfort zone. You need to bear the pain for that. There are two types of pain in life, one that hurts you, one that changes you, but if you learn from them they are on the same level. If you want to get something you sometimes have to tolerate the pain. Stop ranting about not getting time from office to prepare. Don’t waste too much time on parties even if your friends are forcing you. Take the pain to say NO. You may not be able to change your destiny in a day, but you can change your direction right now. If you have desire to do something ace it. Extreme circumstance makes you strong. CAT is mostly about regularity, and being regular can be painful. Regardless, upon what amount of it hurts now, you must hold your mind up and overcome it. In the end, action will speak for itself. So focus, work hard in silence and let your success be noise on the Results DAY.
Insignificant Busywork
You need to learn when to say ‘yes” when to say “no” to establish your goals. Don’t try too much at once or you’ll get confused. If you’ll never say no you’ll take too much stress and frustration. We spend much time on what’s urgent not on what’s important. Focus on your priorities. Leave all your negative thoughts aside and just keep improving till your CAT exam. The end result might surprise you.
Other People’s Judgements
The more you care, the less they’ll care. Just ignore such people and focus on your goals. Stay away from toxic people. It is never too late or never too soon. Don’t give others the power to control your emotions. Those are only yours and it is only for you to manipulate. A lot of us waste our valuable time caring about certain things that in the end amount to nothing. There will always be people sitting around to Judge you, even if you become the Prime Minister of India. So do you see any use caring about them ? Modi doesn’t give a damn, you shouldn’t too.
Old Troubles From the Past
You can’t transform what happened at that point.. You can’t go back and change your academics. So what ? I can list hell lot of Entrepreneurs who din’t even complete their grads. So don’t take anxiety. Do your best. Overlook whatever remains.
Never force anything, give your best. If it’s meant to be, it will be. Stop talking about the problems start thinking about the solution. Think of what can be the best. Every change happens for a reason. Roll with it, cherish it. It won’t be easy in the start but it the end and the lessons you’ll gain from it will last a lifetime.
While it is correct that most of the older IIMs frown upon aspirants with poor academic background, a lot of good MBA colleges like MDI, NITIE, IIM Calcutta, FMS etc. primarily look at your CAT score. It is not that your MBA dream should be dead because of poor academic background. It is just that the task is going to be a little harder for you.
Impatient Thoughts
I get few calls / msgs saying even after following your CAT Strategy I am not improving a lot. Patience is the ability to keep a good attitude while working hard. Every step you take, no matter how small is progress. You must dedicate yourself to the best of your ability and understand that real change takes time. Sometimes it will be frustrating when you won’t be seeing any outcome but you need to wait for the right time.
Each Day’s Little Frustrations
There maybe days when you get a low score in your Mock. That’s a bad day. A bad is just a bad day. It comes and goes. Don’t shackle your own ankles. Go ahead and let go of them. You fall, you make mistakes, you learn from them. You’re a human not a robot. Breathe, chase things you love. Think positive, eat healthy, exercise today, worry less, laugh often.
Unfound Fears
Life is all about taking risks. If you don’t take risks, you won’t know what you’re capable of. If you don’t risk anything, you risk everything. Keep your mind focused and face your fears, because what begins in your mind ends up in your life.
