IIT Placement 2024 is organized in two phases in December and May for all IITs. The first phase of placements starts in December. Then, the second phase is conducted from February To May. IIT Placement Process 2024
IIT Placement is conducted twice in December and May.
Step 1: The Training & Placement Cell (All IITs have a separate T&P cell) is in all IITs. Student representatives assist the training and placement cell. They send invitations to companies along with relevant information regarding the placement brochure and job announcement forms.
Step 2: A company can recruit students by contacting the T&P Cell of respective IITs. They send an email to the T&P cell of the IITs of their interest to conduct the recruitment drive.
Step 3: T&P Cell will reply to the companies through email regarding placement drives and interview dates. The dates for campus interviews in IITs are provided on the information provided in the JAF.
Step 4: The suitable date for the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) is decided after conducting discussions between the companies and the T&P Cell. Students are notified of the PPT dates after getting confirmation from companies coming for placement drives.
Step 5: The companies visit IITs to conduct the placement drives and give offers to candidates selected in the process.
Step 6: The companies may offer pre-final year students summer internships during the placement drive.
Step 7: Interested students can register for a particular company online. They can upload resumes/CVs available to the companies for shortlisting.
Step 8: Companies send the list of shortlisted students to the T&P Cell by email before the campus visit for final interviews.
Step 9: The companies visit the IIT campus for the placement drives to give offers to the students. The students who want to participate in the placement rounds have to face a rigorous selection process of group discussion followed by personal interviews.
Step 10: The companies prepare and furnish the final list of selected candidates after completing the recruitment rounds. It takes a few days to provide a list of selected candidates who received the job offer.
