Here’s the Interview of Soumyadeep Paul who converted IIFT Delhi.
Q: Congratulations Soumyadeep on converting IIFT Delhi. Please tell us about your journey.
SOUMYADEEP: Hello Everyone, It’s nice to be back here because of my friend Mr. Indrajeet Singh. People might not know this but we have been knowing each other since 7th standard. He was my student earlier and now he is teaching the whole of India. It feels really nice to see how he has progressed and made iQuanta grow in the past 4 years and how he has expanded this company and made his name in the edtech industry. There is a lesson that everyone should take from him and it is that no matter what all is happening outside in the world, you just have to focus on the task in hand and give your best. You will struggle each and every day but on the same hand you need to make sure that you have to make it count. I was a student at iQuanta in the first batch of 2015 right when Indrajeet had just started and I have seen him struggle in the initial years and now seeing him grow this much is really motivational.

Q: What are the challenges that you faced in your CAT journey and how does iQuanta help you during your preparation?
SOUMYADEEP: Talking about MBA and the CAT exam, it is not something that is the only important thing in life to do. It is an important part of life but it is not something that changes your life overnight. No matter what, you have to do your work and struggle on a daily basis and then only you will get what you deserve. I also struggled for the past 3 years where there were lots of hurdles and lots of ups and downs in my life at that time. But, hard work and effort is what matters the most. You just have to keep on practicing and stay consistent in your preparation.
You need to utilize all the resources that you are getting in your coaching at iQuanta. Take as much help and guidance as possible and achieve your goal as the iQuanta community is always active. Just trust Indrajeet Singh and keep on putting in the good work.
Q: Many people and previous CAT aspirants say that it is not possible to clear CAT and convert to a top B-School in the first attempt. So, what’s your take on that?
SOUMYADEEP: For this, I would like to say that getting 99 plus percentile and converting to IIM is not everything that you need to do. If you look into the bigger picture of life, there are many other ways of doing big things. I did not study at IIM but still I am doing good in my life and career and I am very happy with that.
Q: According to you, how does iQuanta help you in your preparation journey?
SOUMYADEEP: In the exams like CAT, XAT and NMAT, there is a certain time limit in which you have to solve the questions and that too with accuracy. So, for that you need to have a structured approach, shortcuts and a good study material and that’s where iQuanta really helps because it’s mock series and other resources are designed in a way which is very much closer to the exact pattern of the CAT exam and with regular practice and hard work one can definitely crack the CAT exam and score 99 plus percentile.
Q: One last question, what advice would you like to give to all other CAT aspirants?
SOUMYADEEP: During this preparation journey, there will be some days where your studies and mock scores will not be good but that does not mean that you cannot clear the exam. If you have the determination and the willpower to achieve your goal at any cost, you will finally achieve it.
