The Common Law Admission test is one of the most important examinations. As per the notifications released earlier, the first CLAT 2025 Seat allotment list was to be released on December 26, 2024, but as per the verdict given by the Delhi High Court on the revision of the CLAT 2025 answer key, the release of the allotment list got delayed. CLAT Seat allotment process includes multiple crucial details such as the candidate’s all-India rank (AIR), admit card number, vertical and horizontal reservation category and admission status also the allotment list is prepared according to the candidate’s performance and the NLU preferences submitted by them. This year the total seat intake is assumed to be 4054 for the 5-year LLM Program and 1591 for the LLB Program. Check out below for more detailed information. 

Steps Involved the CLAT 2025 Seat allotment process

In general, the CLAT seat allotment process includes the following steps which are explained below:

  • Release of the CLAT merit list: The merit list of CLAT is prepared according to the candidate’s performance and their NLU preferences is publically released at the time of the CLAT result declaration. 
  • Release of Invite List for CLAT Counselling: The candidates shortlisted for the counselling and seat allotment process are then invited for the further process. 
  • CLAT Counselling 2025: Candidates invited for the counselling process receive counselling letters which can be downloaded from the official website of the CLAT Examination. The submission of the necessary documents follows the counselling process. 
  • CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment: The CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment process takes place in five rounds. Candidates have three options after the seat allotment: either they can accept the seat, apply for an upgrade if needed or exit the process. 
  • Enroll first in the CLAT online course by iQuanta

The candidates shortlisted for the CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment Process need to keep a list of necessary documents required for the further process. The documents required are mentioned below:
