IIT Kanpur MBA Eligibility 2025
IIT Kanpur MBA has a required minimum CAT cutoff of 80 percentile for General/EWS/PWD candidates and 55 percentile for SC/ST candidates. On the other hand, General/EWS/PWD candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in their respective disciplines with a minimum result of 60%, awarded by any valid/government-recognized university/institute. In the case of SC/ST candidates, they must have obtained a minimum 55% percentage in their bachelor’s degree. Students pursuing their undergraduate can also apply and ensure that they upload their latest mark sheet.
More importantly, a candidate’s bachelor’s degree needs a minimum of 3 years of education. Additionally, their 10+2 schooling or equivalent diploma must have Mathematics as their core subject. Ensure that all the documents are renewed, updated, and easily accessible.
If any of these details are missed, the candidate’s application will be declared void and cannot be considered for further consideration. Eligibility criteria are provisional and may change at any time for IIT Kanpur MBA program.
IIT Kanpur MBA Shortlisting Criteria 2025
Stage 1: Eligible candidates must fill out the IIT Kanpur MBA online application by clicking to go to the official homepage of IIT Kanpur MBA.
Stage 2: First and Foremost, applications for shortlisting will purely be based on the CAT 2024 scores. IIT Kanpur will decide the cutoff percentiles for shortlisting for personal interviews. For different categories, the cutoff percentiles differ. You can refer to the table below for different categories of candidates shortlisted based on their CAT 2024 scores.
Stage 3: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) assessment will be conducted for all the shortlisted candidates. GD Panels will evaluate candidates for evaluation while the IIT Kanpur MBA faculty will conduct PI and evaluate the same. A composite score will be considered for the final merit list.
Stage 4: All the candidates who appeared for stage 3 will be considered for the merit list. The list will have cutoff composite scores for different categories of students. To maintain gender diversity, female candidates’ scores will be inflated will be inflated by 15% or multiplied by 1.15, no matter the category. Thus, a female candidate belonging to the general/unreserved category will have a better chance than her peers.
