The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025 application form on March 1, 2025. CUET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

The CUET UG 2025 will be conducted in an online (CBT) mode and will follow a structured exam pattern:

  1. Section I (Language Test) – Tests proficiency in 13 languages.
  2. Section II (Domain-Specific Subjects) – Candidates choose from 23 subjects.
  3. Section III (General Aptitude Test) – Includes questions on reasoning, general knowledge, and quantitative ability.
  • Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) only.
  • Exam Duration: Each subject paper is 60 minutes long.
  • Marking Scheme: Correct answers will be awarded 5 marks, and incorrect answers will have a penalty of 1 mark.

CUET UG 2025 Application Form Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Applicants must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board in India.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in CUET UG 2025; however, candidates must check specific university requirements.

CUET UG 2025 Application Form Notable Changes 

The NTA has introduced several significant modifications to the CUET UG 2025 to enhance the examination’s structure and accessibility:

  • Reduction in Subject Choices: Candidates can now select up to five subjects, a decrease from the previous allowance of six.
  • Flexibility in Subject Selection: Applicants are permitted to choose any subject for the CUET, irrespective of their Class 12 subjects.
  • Uniform Test Duration: Each subject test will have a standardized duration of 60 minutes.
  • Streamlined Subject Offerings: The total number of subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37, and domain subjects have been decreased from 29 to 23.
  • Mandatory Questions: All questions in the CUET 2025 are compulsory; there are no optional questions.
  • Subject Removals: Subjects such as Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies, and Engineering Graphics have been removed. Admissions for these programs will now be based on performance in the General Aptitude Test.
  • Language Proficiency Testing: For the 13 languages (English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu), language-specific papers will be conducted as per CUET UG 2024 guidelines. For all other languages, including foreign languages, admissions will be based on performance in the General Aptitude Test.

Candidates aspiring to appear for CUET UG 2025 must follow these steps to complete the application process:

    • Visit the official website: https://cuet.nta.nic.in/.
    • Click on the ‘Register’ link and provide personal details, including name, address, and contact information.
    • Upon successful registration, login credentials will be sent to the registered email and mobile number.
  2. Filling the Application Form:
    • Log in using the provided credentials.
    • Complete the application form with required information such as personal details, educational qualifications, and subject choices.
    • Upload scanned images of a recent photograph and signature in the specified format.
  3. Application Fee Payment:
    • Submit the application fee online through available payment options. The fee structure varies based on the candidate’s category and the number of subjects chosen:
      • Up to 3 Subjects:
        • General (UR): ₹1000
        • OBC (NCL)/EWS: ₹900
        • SC/ST/PwBD/Third gender: ₹800
      • Additional Subjects:
        • General (UR): ₹400 per subject
        • OBC (NCL)/EWS: ₹375 per subject
        • SC/ST/PwBD/Third gender: ₹350 per subject

    • After submission, download and save a copy of the completed application form for future reference.
