IIM Lucknow is one of the dream IIMs for MBA aspirants. With impeccable placement records and exposure, this IIM is the fourth-best management institute in the country. The institute has a rigorous selection process. In the year 2024 with almost more than one lakh applications for the MBA program only 581 candidates of the general category could secure a seat at this prestigious institution. This intensifying competition is not only for the general category but also for other categories including EWS, OBC, SC, ST and PwD. For the OBC category there were a total of 46590 applications out of which 910 students got shortlisted for the PI and then further after the final shortlisting only 375 students got the final offer. This makes the admission conversion rate to just 0.81% for the candidates belonging to the OBC category. As per the data for 2024 admissions a total of 265,850 candidates across all categories had applied for admissions and only 1409 students were finally admitted to the program resulting in the overall conversion rate of just 0.53%. The overall PI conversion rate was 35.94% which means that only one third of the total applicants get shortlisted for the admission process.
