The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) which is the official conducting body for the CAT exam has officially released the CAT 2023 Notification on July 30th 2023 on the official website. CAT 2023 will be conducted by IIM Lucknow on 26th November 2023.
IIM Bangalore conducted the CAT Exam last year. The official CAT 2023 Notification will consist of CAT important dates, CAT eligibility and CAT exam pattern among other details.

As per the CAT Notification 2023 on the official website, following are the important dates you need to keep in mind if you are appearing for the CAT 2023 exam:

CAT 2023 Registration
The CAT 2023 registration process will begin from August 2nd 2023 on the official website as per the official CAT 2023 notification. The process will go on till the third week of September 2023.

CAT 2023 Eligibility
In order to be eligible for CAT 2023
- Candidates must have completed graduation in any stream with minimum 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) or equivalent from a recognised university.
- Final year bachelor’s degree candidates or those awaiting their result are also eligible to appear for the CAT exam.
- Candidates with professional qualifications such as CA/CS/ICWA can also appear in the CAT.
5 Important Things to Note For CAT 2023!
- CAT 2023 to be held on 26th November: This year, the CAT exam is scheduled to be on the 26th of November. The exam will be held in three slots, one of which will be allotted to you by the examination authorities as mentioned in the CAT 2023 notification. You’ll get to know your exam slot via the CAT 2023 admit card.
- Test Format: This year, the CAT exam is scheduled for 120 minutes just like the previous year. Candidates will be tested in 3 sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation.

Details CAT 2022 Pattern Test duration 2 hours Test slots 3 Total number of questions in CAT 66 (varies) Total marks 198 No. of questions in VARC section of CAT 24 (varies) No. of questions in CAT DILR section 20 (varies) No. of questions in CAT QA section 22 (varies) - Administrative Details: For the application process, candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories have to submit an application fee of Rs. 2300/-. For those belonging to the SC/ST/PwD categories, the application fee would be Rs. 1150/-.
You can give 6 Test Centres preferences out of the available cities to choose from. Test centres, once allotted, cannot be changed. - Other Details: Switching of sections during the exam is not allowed. There’s a designated time allotted for each section after completion of which you can only attempt the next section.
There are some TITA questions where you need to type in your answers. There are no negative markings for TITA questions.
