About CLAT
Common law Admission test or more commonly known as CLAT is a law entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities around the country. CLAT is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities on year basis. CLAT is a way of passage and an important step in the selection procedure of National Law Universities (Except NLU Delhi)
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Any candidate who has completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with the requisite score is eligible for the CLAT.
- Minimum marks: A candidate needs to score a minimum 45% marks for General/ Other Backward Class (OBC)/ Specially abled persons categories. 5% relaxation is offered to candidates form Scheduled Class (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.
- Age Limit: There is no upper age limit
- Note: Candidates appearing for their class 12th exams are also eligible to appear for CLAT online coaching
Exam Pattern
- The exam is conducted for both UG and PG programs
- CLAT is conducted in offline mode
- The duration of CLAT is 120 minutes (2 hours)
- Total Questions: 150
- Marking scheme: For ever correct answer 1 mark will be awarded. For every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
