  • Candidates can select up to 6 subjects from the available options (languages and domain-specific subjects).
  • The combination of subjects should align with the admission requirements of the candidate’s desired university or institution.
  • Language subjects (Indian or foreign) are recommended as they assess reading comprehension, literary aptitude, and vocabulary.

For instance, candidates interested in pursuing a course related to Sanskrit, such as those in Shastric traditional subjects (e.g., Sahitya, Vyakarana, etc.), may select Sanskrit in their CUET application. Furthermore, certain universities may have specific subject combinations required for admission to their programs.

How to Select Domain Subjects in CUET 2025?

When selecting CUET Domain Subjects 2025, candidates should consider the following:

  1. Review Eligibility: Ensure the selected subjects meet the eligibility criteria of the university and course for which admission is being sought.
  2. Select Up to 6 Subjects: You can opt for a combination of 4 or 5 domain subjects along with 1 or 2 language papers.
  3. General Test: If applicable, candidates may select the General Test as part of their subject combination.

CUET UG 2025 Exam Pattern

The CUET UG 2025 exam pattern is as follows:

1. Test Duration: The duration for most test papers is 45 minutes. However, subjects such as Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and the General Test will have a duration of 60 minutes.

2. Number of Questions:

  • For all subjects, candidates must attempt 40 out of 50 questions.
  • For the General Test, candidates need to attempt 50 out of 60 questions.

3. Mode of Examination: The exam will be conducted in a hybrid mode, with both pen & paper and computer-based testing options available.

4. Test Shifts: The examination will be conducted in multiple shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject selections.

5. Compensatory Time: PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates will be allotted an additional 20 minutes per hour of the examination.
