Under the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Common University Entrance Test, CUET (UG) is being established for admission into all UG Programmes in all Central Universities for the academic session 2023-24. The single University Entrance Test (CUET) would give a single platform and equitable possibilities to applicants across the country, particularly those from rural and other distant places, and will aid in the establishment of greater links with universities. A single examination will allow candidates to study a broad range of topics and participate in the admissions process to several Central Universities. This article will basically describe what your CUET study plan should look like.

The CUET preparation tips, strategies and CUET study plan mentioned in this article will help the students to strengthen their knowledge and have a clear idea about how to approach the exam and be successful in the CUET exam.

Preparation tips for CUET Exam

Here are some CUET preparation tips that will help you in preparing a proper CUET study plan that will suit your preparation methods:

Understand the Syllabus and Exam Pattern
The first step is to familiarize yourself with the exam pattern. Before you begin your preparations, you should thoroughly study and double-check your syllabus. You can find information about the exam pattern, duration, and marking scheme below.

Make a CUET Study Plan
Once you understand the exam pattern, create a study plan that suits your schedule. If you arrange it well, scheduling may provide wonderful outcomes. Preparing a CUET study plan, on the other hand, is one of the most difficult things for most people. Break down the syllabus into smaller sections and allocate sufficient time to each topic. Remember to split the study time into 2-3 hour intervals depending on the difficulty level.

Practice Previous Year Question Papers
Practicing previous year question papers is an excellent way to understand the exam format, the type of questions asked, and the difficulty level of the exam. Working on the concepts and writing mock tests based on the exam pattern is critical since it will help you identify your strengths and areas for improvement. Take at least one CUET Mock Test every week and attempt to analyse your performance after each one. Also, try to complete as many MCQs from your board examination topics as feasible. Increase the number of mocks you take gradually.

Use Reference Books and Study Material
Use reference books and study material recommended by experts or your teachers. You can also join a CUET online coaching in order to get the right study material and to prepare in a structured manner. It is essential to choose the right study material to ensure that you cover all the topics and sub-topics. Solving complex problems demands solid fundamentals; thus, to strengthen your fundamentals, never undervalue NCERT. Do not neglect or skip it because it will serve as the foundation for your CUET preparation.

Take Mock Tests
Candidates are advised to take the CUET mock test after they have completed the whole syllabus. Candidates must include the CUET mock test in their preparation for the CUET exam since it is a true representation of the real exam. It will assist applicants in understanding the test format and increasing their speed in answering questions. Candidates may learn various questions and anticipate frequently asked questions with the aid of CUET mock tests. Mock tests will help you understand your strengths and weaknesses. As a result, taking multiple CUET mock tests will make it possible to evaluate your performance and improve your time management skills and boost your chances of cracking the CUET exam.

Revise and Practice
Revision is crucial in the last few weeks before the exam. Ensure that you revise all the topics and practice sample papers to increase your confidence level. You should not choose a new subject to study at the last minute. The last days are exclusively for revision, so you may go over and over the stuff you’ve previously mastered.

Stay Positive and Confident
Avoid stress and anxiety, and stay calm during the exam. Every night, get 7-8 hours of sleep. Sleep deprivation impairs attention and impairs your retention power. Maintaining a positive and determined attitude can help you achieve your objective. Make use of the strategies and suggestions in this post to secure your success in the CUET exam.
Being in good health is vital when studying for any exam. Drink lots of water, eat a well-balanced diet, and avoid stress.

Prepare an Exam Day Strategy
Examine your knowledge and performance. Keep an eye on your knowledge, speed, accuracy, and time management abilities. Plan out which section you would like to attempt first.

CUET Syllabus Strategy

The CUET UG programme course is broken into four components. Sections IA and IB of CUET will comprise language questions, Section II will have domain-specific questions, and Section III will include general test questions.

Syllabus division strategy:

  • Make a list of potential subjects.
  • Divide them into strong and weak areas based on your personal experience and weightage.
  • After finishing any part, take notes and review them at the end of the day.
  • Incorporate tough and unfamiliar portions into your daily schedule and make sure to revise them on a regular basis to ensure that you remember what you learned on the day of the exam.

CUET Study Plan

  • To start with the CUET Study plan, read a chapter and take notes on the essential subjects, write definitions and formulae to aid you in revision.
  • After you have finished studying a chapter or topic, analyse how much you remember and how well you comprehend it; this will be part of your self-assessment.
  • Then, depending on what you have learned, practise the questions. When answering problems, do not look at the answer directly; instead, solve it, examine it, and repair any errors you find.
  • Before taking the mock test, be sure you practise the CUET sample papers, familiarise yourself with the examination format, total number of questions, difficulty level, total subjects, and then ace the mock test and the final CUET exam.
  • The key to successfully following your CUET study plan is revision. Always remember to revisit the CUET important topics you have finished in a day, because cracking CUET would be tough without revision.
  • Clear your doubts and notions at all times. It is critical that you take the CUET test calmly.
  • Avoid using obsolete study material and stick to the recommended study material.
  • Take pauses as needed; while continuous study is beneficial, it cannot be done without breaks. So, every three hours, you may take a 15-minute stroll, do a problem, listen to music, eat something, or do anything else that soothes your mind. Then, with a clear mind, resume your studies.
