NLU, Delhii (National Law University, Delhi) conducts AILET every year for admissions to its 5-year integrated BA LLB, one-year LLM, and PhD programs. NLU Delhi accepts only the AILET Scores for its law programs.

  1. The Legal Aptitude and Elementary Mathematics section is removed.
  2. The Overall Exam Duration changed from 90 minutes to 120 minutes.

AILET 2025 Exam Pattern: Sectional-Division

The old AILET Pattern had almost equal weightage of marks for all the sections. However, with the current exam pattern, the marks allotment to the Logical Reasoning section is more than the other two. As the pattern has changed over the years the AILET Preparation strategy also has to updated, old strategies are not going to yield any good results anymore.

AILET 2025 Important Dates

The AILET Exam Date for 2024-25 is yet to be released. Tentatively the AILET Exam will be held in December 2024. Here’s the list of tentative dates for a few AILET 2025 Events:

AILET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Before we discuss the AILET Preparation Strategy, first let’s discuss the AILET’s Eligibility Criteria. As we know the exam is divided into 3 sections and unlike CLAT it is a speed-based exam. The AILET’s Eligibility goes like this:-

  • Qualification: Any candidate who has completed 10+2 or equivalent with the requisite score is eligible for the AILET.
  • Minimum Marks:
  • 45% marks or its equivalent for the General/OBC category students.
  • 40% marks or equivalent for the SC/ST/PwD Category students.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear in AILET.

Note: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th exam are also eligible for AILET 2025.

AILET 2025 Syllabus | Section-Wise Weightage

As we have discussed above the AILET exam consists of three sections, General English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. Each section has a different weightage in the AILET exam. The AILET Syllabus for the five-year integrated BA LLB Course comprises three sections focusing on their assessment area. With AILET 2025 Official Notification the three sections are:

  1. Section A: English Language
  2. Section B: Current Affairs and General Knowledge
  3. Section C: Logical Reasoning

AILET Syllabus for the English Language

  • Number of Questions: 50 Questions
  • Maximum Available Score: 50

The AILET English Language section tests students’ proficiency and usage skills in the English Language. This section comprises all the components of the English Language and the major parts covered are Reading Comprehension Passages, Grammar and Verbal Ability. This section aims to judge the candidate on various topics like para jumbles, Error Spotting etc. The AILET Preparation Strategy for the English Language is discussed below.

AILET Syllabus for Logical Reasoning

  • Number of Questions: 70 Questions
  • Maximum Available Score: 70

The Logical Reasoning Section has the highest sectional and marks weightage in the AILET Exam. It alone carries 70 marks out of 150. This section tests your decision-making skills, reasoning ability, critical thinking and much more. The topics that you would find in the Logical Reasoning Section are as follows:

Note: Since there is no Legal Aptitude section in AILET, there might be a few questions in the Logical Reasoning that would test the candidate’s familiarity with Legal Principles. So some legal topics should also be added to your AILET Preparation Strategy.

AILET Preparation Strategy for 2025

NLU Delhi has offered only 123 seats for the 5-year BA LLB Program for 2025 making the competition of AILET very high. The total time duration has been changed from 90 minutes to 120 minutes making the exam even more lengthier. To build an AILET 2025 Strategy, understanding the AILET Syllabus is crucial before you jump in towards your preparation.

The English Language Section consists of 50 Questions constituting 50 marks in the AILET Exam. Acing this section would need one to be thorough with Reading Skills, Grammar and much more. The following preparation strategy should be followed for the AILET English Language.

  • Students must devote their time to improving their Language Skills as the Grammar and Reading Comprehension portion is checked in the exam. One can include the usage of the English Language in their everyday lives to get better with time.

How to prepare for AILET

The Logical Reasoning section alone comprises 70 questions carrying 70 marks in the AILET Exam. Given that this section has the highest weightage, adapting the right AILET Preparation Strategy is important.

Scoring well in the Logical Reasoning section would require you to stay consistent with your practice and follow a focused approach.

  • Knowing the basics alone isn’t going to help, you must practice religiously.
  • Focus on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning as you will find topics such as statement-based questions, assumptions, conclusions, etc. which is crucial for this section.
  • Try practicing questions that demand more logic like puzzles, seating arrangements, etc.

What not to do?
