IIM Indore is one of the prestigious B-schools in India. It is the sixth IIM in the country, established in 1996 after IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikhode. IIM Indore is ranked 7 according to the NIRF Rankings in Management Category. It is an autonomous public school located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It is known for its flagship program, Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) that offers two-year, full time residential MBA programme. Campus Life

Life at IIM Indore is an enriching and fulfilling environment. The campus is vibrant and buzzing with activities, providing a conducive environment for learning and development. The Institute boasts an excellent faculty and a diverse student body. The faculty members are experienced and highly qualified and are always available to help students with doubts and queries. They are highly distinguished and world-renowned. Situated far away from the city, the campus is a serene and peaceful environment. With its lush green and tall trees, the campus is home to a variety of wildlife such as birds, squirrels, and other small animals. With the grounds covered in well-manicured grass and pathways, the atmosphere on the campus is peaceful and inviting. However, the academic environment is highly competitive and rigorous. The courses are designed so that the students get the best theoretical and practical knowledge. The courses are supported by guest lectures/seminars and workshops which help the students gain an industry perspective. These sessions are kept after classes hour with ongoing clubs and committees work, and academic assignments. Every class has a few readings along with some submissions and hence students, especially first-year students struggle to manage their time. Students are running around completing their tasks and wishing they had more than 24 hours in a day. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and deliver. The first class begins at 8:45 in the morning and the mess often becomes a “mess” with students trying to grab a sandwich and be at class at the same time. The classes finally end at 1:10 after 75 minutes of classes and two 15-minute breaks. As the evening approaches, students have more pleasurable activities like going for evening strolls, visiting the city, and using the institute bus to eat around in different food joints.

The students do have an exciting campus life with clubs and committees organizing events, activities, and workshops providing an avenue for students to showcase their talent. These activities also help students stay in touch with their passion and hobby in an academically rigorous environment. The mosaic of campus life includes, among other things, the celebration of diverse cultural festivals, late-night partying, mass drives to the city, lengthy drives around the picturesque campus, and trips to surrounding sites.

The campus is also equipped with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, computer labs, libraries, and auditoriums. The campus has a cafeteria and a variety of eateries to cater to the students. Big halls and auditoriums are utilized for events and each dorm has its own sports facilities. IIM Eligibility Criteria

IIM Indore has a three-stage selection process – (I) Eligibility criteria (II) shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) (III) Final Selection. All applicants who have applied for CAT must satisfy the eligibility criteria as advertised by the institute and also meet the minimum sectional percentile and overall percentile scores as given in the box below. A candidate who satisfies all the criteria will only be allowed in the second stage of the selection process. Fulfilling the criteria alone does not mean getting selected into the program, it barely means promoting to the latter stage. A candidate must pass the selection process to expect a call from the institute.

Placements at IIM Indore

Placements are an integral part of an MBA journey and placements at IIM Indore continue to grow every year, showing the quality of future leaders groomed in the institute. It has become a preferred place for recruitments and many prominent recruiters have shown their trust and faith in the institute. This section of the article shows the current placement situation of the institute.

PGP and IPM

The final placement in 2022 in IIM Indore witnessed roles being offered from various sectors. The sectors that recruited the maximum number of students were Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Consulting, Consumer Products & Retail(CPR), and Technology, Media & Telecommunications(TMT) amongst others. Some of the top recruiters were Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, American Express, Amazon, Deloitte, Google, OYO, Barclays, Capgemini, BCG, Blackbuck, Bank of America, Paytm and BMW. 31% of the batch was offered consulting roles, 20% in Finance, 18% in Sales and Marketing, 16% in General Management and Operations and 15% in IT.

Summer Internship

The PGP batch of 2024 saw an increase of 25% in the highest stipend compared to the previous year. More than 150 recruiters participated in the summer placement process and the consulting and sales and marketing domain saw the most number of offers. Around 25% of the batch was offered roles in consulting domain from top recruiters like Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte India, Deloitte USI, Everest Group, Eversana, Ernst & Young, GEP Consulting, KPMG, McKinsey & Company etc. IIM Indore has always been the most preferred campus for sales and marketing with 26% of the batch getting offer in this domain. Some of the top recruiters in IIM Indore are AB InBev, Asian Paints, Atomberg Technologies, Coca-Cola, Dabur, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Everest Industries, GlaxoSmithKline Pharma amongst others.

PGPHRM

The fourth batch of PGP HRM were offered many roles across different domains.  Around 30 recruiters offered roles to a batch of 38 students. Some of the top recruiters were Aditya Birla, Biocon, Capgemini, Deloitte, HeroFinCorp, ICICI Bank, Vedanta, Crompton Greaves, EXL, Gail India and more. This year the final placement saw a jump of 11% in the average CTC received by the students. The highest package offered was at Rs. 34.5 LPA with median and average package at Rs. 22.2 LPA and Rs. 22.65 LPA respectively.

EPGP

EPGP is a one-year intense MBA program for working executives who want to hone their existing knowledge and develop a deeper understanding of different facets of management. Total strength of the batch was 57 and 51% had minimum 5-8 years of work experience. More than 68 recruiters participated in the placement process and highest package was offered was Rs. 43.9 LPA with batch average being Rs. 27.8 LPA.
