The “Campus in the North” is situated in Kashipur, Uttarakhand stretched over a large plush green area. It is just a 45 minutes drive from the Jim Corbett National Park. It is a second-generation IIM set up by the government of India in 2011. The institute is bestowed with natural beauty that speaks loud and clear in the lapse of the Himalayas. More than 180 businesses have established their operations in the area, making it one of the densest industrialized zones in the country. IIM Kashipur benefits from this tactical geographic orientation in terms of ‘Learning by Doing’ with regular industry interaction and practical projects.
A usual day in IIM Kashipur starts at around 8 am in the morning. Classes usually start at 9 am so you will see a lot of the students missing breakfast and running for classes. Deadlines are sacrosanct here and a minute late submission or entry to the class would not be considered. People miss morning’s breakfast for that extra hour of sleep. However, you may not miss any meals if you can manage your time well. Classes can go up till 4 pm in the evening after which you will get some time for leisure and rest depending on your workload. Just like in every B-School every day is packed with assignments, projects, quizzes, readings, and club/committee activities. Apart from academics, you can be a part of many committees and clubs in IIM Kashipur like a sports committee that takes care of your sporting needs and a mess committee to provide you with delicious food. Similarly, there are many clubs and committees that are made to cater to different interests and areas of a student’s life. The curriculum is rigorous and demanding and you might find it hard in your initial days. Still, gradually you will get accustomed to the hectic schedule and start enjoying the learning process. After you complete your first year, you will look back and realise how far you have come. The demanding schedule and structure of IIM Kashipur will make you strong enough to withstand any kind of pressure.

The institute is a student-run campus, from organizing fests to handling the campus canteens, students handle every aspect of it. The campus boasts excellent sports facilities, including a football pitch, basketball court, volleyball court and tennis court. Additionally, the campus contains a cafeteria, library, auditorium, and gym. IIM Kashipur also provides good accommodation facilities with single occupancy with each floor having 1 common room and attached bathrooms.
