Campus Life at IIM Trichy

Beginning with the hostels, at IIM Trichy, you get to have a single room all to yourself. Being that the campus is new and only a few years old, the rooms are new and you are provided with a bed, a desk, a shelf, a cupboard, and an attached bathroom all for yourself. A bonus to the hostels is the lifts. To rejuvenate, as a student of IIM Trichy, you are allowed access to the gym and the Sports Complex. The Sports Complex is where you can find indoor squash courts, table tennis courts, and tennis courts. Outdoors, you have the basketball courts and multi-purpose grounds.

If you were in the mood for some peace, then the library is one of your options. Massive, with multiple floors, the library is well-lit and equipped with truly innovative facilities. Looking to work on group assignments or have an online meeting without being disturbed or disturbing others, then you have the ‘cubicles’. Looking to sit alone, then you have the ‘office chairs with attached desks’. Are you going to be working on your laptops, then you have the rows of desks and office chairs. In short, you could spend hours on a stretch, quite comfortably, working on assignments, projects, and study sessions.

A usual day at IIM Trichy begins around 7:30 to 8:00 am. Fresh and dressed for the day, you would head to the mess for a quick breakfast if you think you have enough time. Most often, you’ll be rushing to get to the classes on time, the last minute. Then, it’s generally, a mix of classes and guest lectures until around 3 in the evening. After some rest, then it’s back to assignments, case studies, and group work. Once you’re done with your submissions and revisions, that is when ‘campus life’ truly begins. The final placement process for the 2021-2023 batch of the PGPM program at IIM Trichy was completed for 246 students. This year witnessed an increase of 20% in the Average CTC and 22% in the Median CTC. The sector-wise distribution of the participating firms was as follows: Finance (31%), Consulting (20%), IT & Analytics (18%), Sales & Marketing (17%), General Management (8%), and Operations (6%).

The final placement process for the 2023 batch of the PGPM – HR witnessed a 49% increase in PPOs offered, a 49% increase in the Average CTC of roles offered in the Operations domain, and 41% in the roles offered in the IT & Analytics domains.

Despite an increase in batch size by 40%, the average stipend increased by 17% from the previous year. 23% of roles were offered in Sales & Marketing and Finance domains respectively, 17% in both Consulting and IT & Analytics domains, and 10% in both Operations and General Management domains.
