The Integrated Program In Management Aptitude Test is a management exam that provides a gateway to various IIMs and non-IIMs for the IPM Program after class 12. IPMAT Exam Pattern: Eligibility Criteria 2025
Before the students start preparing for the exam the students need to know the eligibility criteria of the IPMAT Exam, so that they get to know whether they satisfy it or not. There are two aspects to the eligibility criteria:
Minimum Percentage- The minimum percentage required in classes 10 and 12 to be eligible to take the IPMAT Indore exam is 60% for General/EWS/OBC category students and 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Age Criteria- The Maximum age of a General/OBC/EWS student should not be more than 20 years of age or they shouldn’t be born before 1 August 2005. The Maximum age of an SC/ST/PwD candidate should not be more than 25 years of age or they shouldn’t be born before 1 August 2000.

IPMAT Exam Pattern and Selection Procedure
There are three IPMAT exams in India which are: IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak, and JIPMAT exam. Each of the IPMAT exams has a different exam pattern. There are two stages involved in the selection process of the IPMAT exams (except for the JIPMAT exam which has only one stage i.e. Aptitude Test), which is Aptitude Test and the Interview:-

Stage 1: Aptitude Test
It is a computer-based exam that tests your logical and analytical skills and based on which score you will be eligible for the interview. The test consists of Quantitative Aptitude, Logical reasoning, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, and Reading Comprehension. The composition of these subjects varies differently in each exam. IPMAT Indore Exam Pattern
The IPMAT Indore has the most different exam pattern among all the IPMAT exams. This exam has a sectional cutoff, unlike others, also IPMAT Indore has a short-answer section where the questions have to be answered in the TITA (Type In The Answer) format. The following are the sections and the no. of questions in the IPMAT exam.

2. Every correct answer gives you a +4 mark and every incorrect answer leads to a -1 mark.
3. Logical Reasoning is not a part of this exam instead of that one set of Data Interpretation (5 questions) is mostly asked.
4. The Quants short answer section is in TITA (Type In The Answer) format.
5. This exam has a sectional cutoff and a sectional time limit too.
6. IPMAT Indore also has Higher Mathematics (maths of classes 11 and 12).

IPMAT Rohtak Exam Pattern
The exam pattern of the IPMAT Rohtak exam is quite different than IPMAT Indore. There’s no sectional cutoff in this exam and the whole paper consists of multiple-choice questions. The following are the sections and the no. of questions involved in the IPMAT Rohtak exam.

JIPMAT Exam Pattern
The JIPMAT Exam has an easy IPMAT exam pattern. Unlike Indore and Rohtak, JIPMAT does not have any sectional timing or a sectional cutoff. The exam pattern goes like the following:-

Stage 2: Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview
Upon clearing the cutoffs of the IPMAT exams, the students have to take a Written Ability Test (WAT) followed by an Interview:
Written Ability Test (WAT): A Written Ability Test is conducted by the admission committee in which a student is given a theme or an issue and they have to write on those given issues/themes within a specified time limit. This test judges students’ writing skills, knowledge, and language hold.
Note- WAT has been discontinued in most of the colleges as per the latest IPMAT exam pattern.
Personal Interview: Candidates who qualify aptitude test stage will be eligible for a Personal Interview. The Interview judges the student’s level of confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills, and knowledge. This is administered by the admission committee of the college.
The Interview can be either online or in offline mode.

IIM Indore is the most desired college by the IPMAT aspirants. This college was ranked 8th by the NIRF Rankings and has the best average and highest package among all the IPMAT colleges. IIFT Kakinada
This college is the second-best college in terms of placements, this college offers an average package of 29 lakhs per annum and it goes up to 87 lakhs per annum. This college was ranked 24th by the NIRF Rankings, 2024. This college only takes in students who have Mathematics/Applied Mathematics in class 12th. Like IIM Jammu and Bodhgaya, this college also does not take any interviews. This college accepts the score of IPMAT Indore.

IPMAT Cutoffs and Aptitude Test Score Calculation
The Aptitude Test Score is calculated in the following way according to the IPMAT exam pattern:-
Quantitative Aptitude Section (SA section): 25 X (candidate’s score – Minimum score) (Maximum score – Minimum score)
Quantitative Aptitude Section (MCQ section): 25 X (candidate’s score – Minimum score) (Maximum score – Minimum score)
Verbal Ability Section: 50 X (candidate’s score – Minimum score) (Maximum score – Minimum score)
Note: Maximum and Minimum scores are the highest and lowest scores obtained in respective sections by the candidates from the eligible pool. The candidates will obtain the total score in the exam by summing the scores they got in all three sections and the IPMAT exam’s cutoff will be decided accordingly.
