The IPMAT Indore exam is an after-12th exam that acts as a gateway to top IIMs and various other management institutes in India. There are three IPMAT exams in India which are conducted by multiple IIMs. Among them, IIM Indore was the first to start its IPM program through the IPMAT Indore exam in 2011.

IPMAT Indore Syllabus & Exam Pattern
IPMAT Indore is considered to be the toughest exam among the IPMAT exams mainly because of its exam pattern and syllabus.
It is the only exam that has Higher Mathematics(maths of class 11 & 12), apart from that it also has a minimum sectional cutoff, irrespective of what your overall score is, you will have to clear the cutoff of each section as well as you will have to score a minimum total score (including all the three sections) to be considered for the Personal Interview round.
The exam is divided into 3 sections of 40 minutes each making it a 2-hour exam. The following is the IPMAT Exam Pattern of the IPMAT Indore Exam:-

Note-
- Logical Reasoning is not a part of the IPMAT Indore exam. Instead of Logical Reasoning questions a Data Interpretation set of 5 questions or a logical puzzle set is asked in the IPMAT Indore QA (MCQ) section. Topics like Linear arrangements, Games & Tournament, etc. are asked, check past IPMAT papers to know the type of sets asked.
- IPMAT Indore is the only exam that has a sectional cutoff for admission into IIM Indore.
- In the SA (Short Answer) section, you have to enter your answer in digits in the box provided below. There is no negative marking in this section.
- This exam also has higher mathematics which includes mathematics of classes 11 & 12.
- Since the level of difficulty is higher in this exam, the cutoffs are around 50% of the total marks for General category students and even lower for SC/ST/PwD/EWS/OBC category students. Though general category students are advised to score around 60% of the total marks to stay safe.
- Each section has a time limit of 40 minutes, until you finish the given section you cannot go to the next section.

IPMAT Indore Eligibility Criteria
The IPMAT Eligibility Criteria is the minimum criteria that an aspirant has to meet to be eligible for this Exam. The IPMAT Indore Eligibility goes like the following:-
- Minimum Percentage:- The minimum percentage required in classes 10 and 12 to be eligible to take the IPMAT Indore exam is 60% for General/EWS/OBC category students and 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Age Criteria:- The Maximum age of a General/OBC/EWS student should not be more than 20 years of age or they shouldn’t be born before 1 August 2004. The Maximum age of a SC/ST/PwD candidate should not be more than 25 years of age or they shouldn’t be born before 1 August 1999.

IPMAT Indore Selection Process
The IPM Indore Exam has two stages in its selection process; Stage-1- Aptitude Test and Stage-2- Personal Interview:-
Stage 1 (Aptitude test): As a part of the selection procedure, the candidates will have to undergo an aptitude test, conducted by IIM Indore which will test the Aptitude and Proficiency in English of the candidate.
The candidate will have to score a minimum cutoff mark set for that year by the Institute to qualify for Stage 2, i.e. Personal Interview Round.
Stage 2 (Personal Interview): Those candidates who qualify for the aptitude test round will be eligible for a Personal Interview. The Interview judges students’ level of confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills, and knowledge. This is administered by the admission committee.

IPMAT Indore 2024 Important Dates
The IPMAT Indore exam is usually conducted in the month of June. Approximately 75 days after the completion of Board exams of class 12. The results are out within a month and the interviews are conducted within 1-2 weeks after the result is declared.
IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT exams are also in the month of May or June.
