What is IPMAT?
IPMAT stands for ‘Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test’. It is an aptitude test conducted by various colleges to admit students into their programs. It is for a 5-year integrated course, in which the first 3 years are for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and the last 2 years are for the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Who can Appear for IPMAT?
It is a stream-neutral exam, which means that irrespective of your 12th-grade subjects, you can appear for the exam and qualify for the IPMAT personal interview round. Students who are appearing for 10+2 or have passed 10+2 can take the exam. For the General category, a minimum of 60% marks in both 10th and 12th grades is required, whereas for other categories, a minimum of 55% marks in both 10th and 12th grades is required.
IPMAT Important Dates
The IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT examinations are scheduled for the month of May, while IPMAT Indore is scheduled for the month of June. The IPMAT personal interview round is typically around the end of June. This year’s IPMAT exam will be held on May 23, 2024. Registrations have already started, and the last day to apply is April 26, 2024.

IPMAT Indore
IPMAT Indore is the conducting body for the IPMAT. The exam is conducted in the month of June and comprises three sections: Quantitative Ability (Short Answers), Quantitative Ability (MCQ), and Verbal Ability. After clearing the cutoff, you will be shortlisted for the IPMAT personal interview round. The target score should be 55%-60% of the total marks, which means around a 200+ score would be ideal to gain admission to IIM Indore.
The total weightage consists of 65% for the IPMAT score and 35% for the IPMAT personal interview.

IPMAT IIM Rohtak
IPMAT Rohtak is conducted in the month of May. It comprises three sections: Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, and Verbal Ability. There is no sectional cutoff in the exam. If you meet the overall cutoff, you will be shortlisted for the IPMAT personal interview. An ideal score to aim for, to be on the safer side, is around 410 out of 480 marks. The weightage is as follows: 45% for the Aptitude Test, 40% for your past academic scores, and 15% for your IPMAT personal interview.

JIPMAT
JIPMAT stands for ‘Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test’. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The syllabus for JIPMAT is the same as that of IPMAT Rohtak. The exam is conducted at the end of May. JIPMAT scores are accepted by IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Jammu.
It comprises three sections: Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability. Students do not need to be exceptionally good because the level of mathematics is slightly lower than that of IPMAT Indore.
An ideal score to aim for, to be on the safer side for admission to IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Jammu, is around 350 marks. After clearing the cutoff, you will qualify for the JIPMAT personal interview round.
The weightage for IIM Jammu is as follows: 95% for the JIPMAT score and 5% for your past academic results. There is no JIPMAT personal interview. An additional 5% weightage is given to female candidates.
The weightage for IIM Bodhgaya is as follows: 100% for the JIPMAT score, with an additional 10 marks given to female candidates.
