Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2025 is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission in B.Tech, BS, B.Arch, integrated and dual-degree courses in IITs. The exam is conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITS under the Joint Admission Board (JAB 2025). - Increase in Registration Fee: The registration fee for foreign nationals increased by USD 50.
- Change in Exam Centre Zone: IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kharagpur along with IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Guwahati are the exam centre zones in 2025. IIT Madras and IIT Bhubaneswar are not exam centre zones in 2025.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE Advanced 2025 for Indian nationals is based on five criteria and for foreign nationals four criteria need to be met. There are as follows:
Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals
- JEE Main 2025 Performance: National candidates need to be among the top 2,50,000 candidates qualifying the BE/B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2025 as per the categories they fall in. OCI/PIO students must be among the top 1,01,250 (96,187 + 5,063) students. The following table will help candidates understand it better:

- Age Limit: Applicants should be born on or after October 1, 2000. SC, ST and PwD applicants are provided a five year relaxation.
- Number of Attempts: Applicants can appear for JEE Advanced Paper twice at maximum for two consecutive years.
- Performance in 10 + 2: Candidates must pass 10 + 2 with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects either in 2024 or 2025. They must obtain a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate in case of general category and 65% in case of SC, ST and PwD categories.
- Admission in IITs: Candidates must not enroll in any academic programmes in IITs. Those candidates who have taken preparatory courses are eligible to apply. Also, those candidates who couldn’t qualify or did not accept a seat in JoSAA 2024 are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals
The JEE (Advanced) 2025 eligibility criteria for foreign nationals is similar to that of Indian Nationals. The only difference is that foreign candidates are exempted from appearing in JEE Main 2025. They can directly register for JEE Adv 2025 given that they meet the other criteria. For every course, a total of 10% seats are allotted to the foreign candidates.

JEE Advanced 2025 Admission Process
To start with the admission process, candidates need to make sure they meet JEE Main 2025 cutoff as well as the eligibility criteria set. The complete JEE Advanced Admission Process 2025 is stated below:
- Candidates must qualify the JEE Main 2025 and meet the eligibility criteria.

JEE Advanced Exam Day Guidelines
- Visit the examination centre in advance to complete the formalities. The examination centre will remain open from 7 AM onwards on the examination day.
- Carry IIT JEE admit card along with an original photo identity card
- Only the following items will be allowed inside the examination hall – pens, pencils, drinking water in a transparent bottle
- Candidates must compulsorily appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
JEE Advanced Result 2025
Candidates can check their results through the JEE Advanced 2025 portal online. The results will be released by IIT Kanpur in the form of All India Ranks (AIR) for each category on June 2, 2025. Candidates will not receive individual rank cards for the same. However, after the JEE Advanced 2025 result is out, candidates will be informed about the same through text messages in their respective phone numbers provided at the time of registration.

JEE Advanced Cutoff 2025
The rank list will be based on the aggregate marks scored by the candidates in JEE Advanced Paper 1 and 2. The aggregate marks is the total marks obtained in In Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. If any candidate’s number is a tie, he/she with higher positive mark is allotted the higher rank. If there is a tie again higher rank in Mathematics will be considered further Physics marks will be taken into account if the situation remains the same. If there is still a tie, the same rank will be allotted to the candidates. Candidates must meet the minimum JEE Advanced 2025 cut off for each subject as well as in aggregate to qualify for rank list. No waiting list is released for the same. JEE Advanced 2025 Counselling – JoSAA
Candidates are offered seats through a common counselling process by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). It will be held online in 2025. Those who qualify the JEE Advanced 2025 will be eligible to register for JoSAA counselling. At the time of registration, the qualified candidates need to select their preferred institute as well as courses. Architecture Aptitude Test – AAT 2025
Candidates who are willing to take admission in the B.Arch programme available in IIT (BHU) Varanasi, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee need to apply, appear and qualify for Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). The architecture exam is conducted at all zonal IITs. It is a single test conducted in English medium with a time duration of three years. Candidates must note that they need to bring their respective colouring and drawing items. In 2024, 1079 students registered out of which 335 appeared for the test and 329 of them were declared qualified.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must pass with a minimum of 75% in 10+2 for general category and 65% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC category.
- Candidates need to qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025 to become eligible for AAT 2025.
AAT 2025 Admission Process:
- Candidates need to visit the JEE Advanced 2025 online website and complete the AAT 2025 registration on June 2.
- They need to bring the JEE Advanced credit card along with a photo ID to the examination hall. No separate admit card will be issued for the B.Arch admission entrance exam.
- AAT 2025 result will be out on June 8 on the JEE Advanced 2025 online portal.
- Joint Implementation Committee of JEE Advanced 2025 will release the minimum AAT cutoff which is usually the passing cutoff.
- Admission will be based on candidates rank in the JEE Advanced 2025. Candidates need to obtain only the passing mark in AAT. There will be no separate AAT 2025 rank list for seat allotment in B.Arch admission.
