IIT Cutoff – FAQs
To secure admission in IITs, general category candidates typically need a JEE Advanced rank between 4,500–10,000. Older IITs demand lower ranks, while newer ones accept ranks up to 10,000.
IIT Bombay, Delhi, and Madras typically have the most competitive cutoffs, especially for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), where closing ranks for General category candidates usually fall below 200.
With 50 marks in JEE Advanced, securing admission to an IIT is highly unlikely, as the cutoffs for top branches and IITs are generally much higher than this score.
