Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) is a growing institution offering undergraduate and postgraduate law programs to its deserving students. MNLU Mumbai admission is offered based on CLAT scores. This university specialises in many courses such as BA.LL.B (Hons) five-year integrated programs, LL.M one-year program,  MA, PhD in Law, and plans to add more specialisations in the coming year. MNLU BA LLB Admission Process

The Maharashtra National Law University provides admission to a five-year integrated BA LLB program to eligible and worthy students. The eligibility criteria as well as the selection criteria are mentioned below:

MNLU Eligibility Criteria for the BA LLB Five-Year Course 

  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ST criteria should secure at least 45% in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates appearing for their final examinations in the month of March/April are also eligible to apply for this program.
  • Candidates are also advised to qualify for their CLAT Examinations. 

MNLU Selection Criteria for the BA LLB Five-Year Course 

  • All the admission processe at MNLU are done strictly based on the scorecard of the CLAT Examination.
  • MNLU strictly follows the Reservation Policies of the Government of Maharashtra.
  • The total seat intake for the undergraduate B.A.LL.B program is 100 out of which 20 supernumerary seats are under the Foreign National / NRI / NRI Sponsored category and 2 seats are for the permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir by the UGC directives.

MNLU PG Admission Process

The Maharashtra National Law University provides admission to its Post Graduate Courses only to eligible and worthy students. The eligibility criteria as well as the selection criteria are mentioned below:

MNLU Eligibility Criteria for the Post-Graduate Course 

  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ST Criteria must have at least 45% marks or its equivalent grade and 50% marks or its equivalent grade for other candidates in the LLB Degree or equivalent examination. 
  • Industry-sponsored Candidates who are working with the Regulators (SEBI / RBI / PFRDA / IRDA / IBBI / CCI), Market Infrastructure Institutions (NSE / BSE / MCX / NSDL / CDSL), Banks and Financial Institutions and Advocates for three years and above are also eligible to apply under for LL.M. in Investment & Securities Law Program.
  • Candidates are also advised to qualify for their CLAT Examinations.
  • The eligibility criteria for the industry-sponsored candidates are the same as for other candidates.

MNLU Selection Criteria for the Post-Graduate Course 

  • MNLU PG admission is based on CLAT PG scores.
  • MNLU strictly follows the Reservation Policies of the Government of Maharashtra.
  • The total intake for the PG graduate LL.M. is 50 students in 10  supernumerary seats under the Foreign National / NRI / NRI Sponsored category and 2 seats for permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir per the UGC directives.

MNLU PhD Admission Process

The Maharashtra National Law University provides admission to its PhD Courses only to eligible and worthy students. The eligibility criteria as well as the selection criteria are mentioned below:

MNLU Eligibility Criteria for the PhD Course 

  • Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Law with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade ‘B’ on the UGC 7-point scale.
  • Also, there is a relaxation of 5% in eligibility criteria for the candidates belonging from SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-abled persons.
  • Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Coursework with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ on the UGC 7-point scale is also eligible for the PhD Courses.

MNLU Selection Criteria for the PhD Course 

  • All the admission processes are done based on the PhD admission test conducted by the concerned University. 
  • Enrolment for the Ph.D. The degree is generally full-time or part-time.
    • The candidate pursuing the full-time course shall put in a minimum of two years of residence of which at least 18 months shall be in the university and three years shall be the maximum period in which a full-time candidate should complete the work and submit it for evaluation.
    • Candidates pursuing part-time courses shall put in a minimum of four years, including coursework, of part-time study in the University including time spent for research at any other place with the permission of the Supervisor.

MNLU Scholarship Programs 

The Maharashtra National Law University also provides financial aid and scholarship programs to its deserving students. The details of the scholarship programs are mentioned below:

  • The candidates domiciled in Maharashtra shall receive a 25% concession on their tuition fees.
  • The University also facilitates scholarships for students domiciled in other states as per the Central / State government rules and policies.
  • The Maharashtra National Law University also facilitates the students belonging to the reserved category of Maharashtra state to avail of the scholarship offered by the Department of Social Justice & Assistance, Government of Maharashtra.
