We have been speculating about the major changes in CUET 2025 for the past few days. UGC has announced some major changes in CUET UG. This has been done to make the admission process more standardised and transparent. One of the biggest changes in CUET 2025 is the reduction in subjects from 63 to 37. The admission to the subjects that have been dropped will be based on General Aptitude Test (GAT). Earlier the test was conducted in 33 languages but now as per the new changes in CUET 2025, aspirants can now answer only in 13 languages. Major Changes in CUET 2025
Here are some of the new changes made in CUET UG and PG exam
CUET UG PG Exam Changes 2025 – Exam to be Conducted in CBT Mode Only
CUET 2025 will be conducted in the CBT mode only. Earlier the test was conducted in the hybrid mode but now it will be conducted in the CBT mode.
CUET Aspirants to Appear in Any Subject
Aspirants can now appear in any subject irrespective of the subject they have studied in class 12.
CUET 2025 Exam Language
The exam will be conducted in 13 languages only – English, Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
Domain Specific Subjects Reduced in CUET 2025
There is a reduction in the domain specific subjects and it has been reduced to 23 from 29. The papers that have been discontinued include Entrepreneurship, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Teaching Aptitude, Legal Studies and Engineering Graphics.
CUET Major Changes – Exam Duration
CUET UG exam duration is now 60 minutes and the optional questions have been removed. CUET 2025 question paper will have all compulsory questions. CUET PG exam duration will be of 90 minutes.
