NLU Placements 2024

The National Law Universities in India are the dream colleges for aspiring law students. There are multiple factors responsible for making NLUs the top choices of law students. NLU placements are one of the major factors contributing towards this. The placement reports of the NLUs are eagerly awaited by the candidates every. The popular law firms participating in the placement processes are Khaitan & Co., Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Trilegal. There are a total of 26 National Law Universities in India and almost 60% of these universities make it to the NIRF Ranking which is the most credible ranking of the top colleges in India.

NLU Placement Process

There are placement cells within the National Law Universities which take care of the entire placement process. There are basically three steps involved in the placement process. Check out below for the steps involved:

In the first step, the reputed companies are requested to conduct pre-placement opportunities for the students. This is beneficial for the students as these showcase the organisation’s profile, career opportunities at the company and the probable salary packages.
As per the request made by the colleges, the recruiters then conduct a pre-interview screening process and shortlist the candidates accordingly for the final interview round.
The final interview round is then conducted. The recruiters also disclose the list of selected students and the salary package that will be offered to them.

The NLU Placements take place in two phases. Both the forms of the NLU placements are given below:

Zero Day Placement: This placement opportunity is for those students who are in the fourth year of their five-year law program. This is also commonly known as a pre-placement offer because the students have yet to complete their law courses.
Final Year Placement: This placement offer is for those students who are in the final year of their particular programmes. It is especially held for those students who could not make it to the zero-day placement.
