While preparing for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) the 26 National Law Universities of India are the top preferences of the students. However, not every student who aspires gets into a National Law University. In such cases, candidates can also aim for top private colleges accepting CLAT scores. More than 75000 candidates appeared for the CLAT 2025 examination but there are close to 4600 seats in the National Law Universities including both UG and PG courses. Factors to be Considered Before Selecting Private Law Colleges 

There are numerous factors to be considered before selecting a private institution for pursuing legal education. Not all the colleges but those that have signed the Memorandum of Agreement accept the CLAT scores for admission in UG and PG courses. Candidates are required to go through the points given below carefully before selecting any private college for pursuing a law degree.

  • Candidates must be aware of the NIRF Ranking and NAAC Grade of the college as it is highly recommended to only take admission into a reputed college for good placement opportunities.
  • Candidates must be aware of the past placement records of the college. Calculate the ROI of the college you’re willing to take into. This will help you make better decisions in selecting your college.
  • Candidates can check the faculty of the college they are getting into. Private colleges with better faculty provide you with higher chances of success rate.
  • Candidates must ensure that the fees of the college they’re willing to take into is reasonable. Avoid taking admission into institutions with higher academic fees. 
  • Lastly, candidates must also ensure the infrastructure and location of the college. Both factors should be in favour of the candidates.
