Prashant Singh Chauhan, IIM Indore, 2016 -18 shares his MBA story with iQuanta. He was the student of inception iQuanta CAT Course batch. Here is what he has to say as an IIM Graduate, looking back at his journey.

Prashant: In 8th standard when my Grammar teacher asked me, “What do you want to become in life?” My answer was- “I want to join the merchant navy.” She said, “Do you want to only earn money in your life? “Hearing her reply I was completely blank. I started thinking about my future and decided to become a doctor. But after scoring 100% marks in Maths in 10 standards, nobody appreciated that I continue with Biology. Thus, like 99% of youths of India, after my HSC exam, I joined engineering.

In the final year of engineering, I got placed in Infosys Limited. Due to uncertain business requirements, my joining got delayed and I started preparing for government jobs. I got selected for one PSU but due to some unavoidable reason, I had to join Infosys. After running through corporate life I started to realize that I need something extra to gain an edge over others. I decided to do an MBA. So I appeared for entrance exams in 2014. However, due to a lack of adequate work experience, I was advised not to join any college. I reappeared in 2015 and scored decent percentiles in almost all the entrance exams.

Now I have completed 2 years in IIM Indore, Mumbai campus. Life till now has been hectic but I have enjoyed it. If I compare myself to what I was 2 years back, I learned a lot of things that will be helpful for me in my career as well as live. Now I have some direction in life which will take me towards my vision. The assignments, the group studies, the classroom discussions, the live projects, the industry interactions, the inter-college competitions- make the life here even more interesting. IIM Indore has helped me making my profile even stronger. It is truly a privilege to be a part of this place with participants from such diverse backgrounds. Interacting with them is a splendid experience in itself. IIM Indore, PGP Mumbai is definitely one of the best decisions of my life.
