About Symbiosis Law

Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune is a private college established in 1977, affiliated to Symbiosis International University and approved by UGC and Bar Council of India. The Symbiosis law schools have campuses located in Pune, Hyderabad, Noida and Nagpur in India.The college offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and research programs in the discipline of Law across multiple specializations.

Admission to the Symbiosis law program is done on the merit basis of the marks scored in the SLAT entrance exam conducted by the college.

SLAT

SLAT is the entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis University to admit students in the law program offered by the university at their institutes situated in different states.

It is mandatory to appear for SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) as a precondition for admission to Symbiosis Law Schools. Out of the three law colleges that accept SLAT, Symbiosis Pune is considered to be paramount. Hence, it is an eminent choice among SLAT aspirants.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates).

Selection process

On declaration of SLAT result SLS, will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for PI-WAT/ST-PI t process.

SLAT Syllabus

  • Logical Reasoning

This section will have 12 questions based on topics such as Number Test, Series Test, Coding and Decoding, Odd One Out, Statement Arguments, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Statement Assumptions, Ranking, Questions n Relations, Syllogisms

  • Legal Reasoning

This section will test candidate’s interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. There will be questions based on Legal Knowledge too.

  • Analytical Reasoning

This section will have 12 and will include questions on Permutation and Combination, Blood Relations, Mixtures, Ratio and Proportion, Series, Number System, Time and Work, Mensuration, Clocks and Calendar, Profit- Loss and Discount, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Probability etc.

  • Reading Comprehension

The English section will comprise of 12 questions from comprehension passages. The unseen passages will be tailed by questions related to the passage. The English section is meant to test the language skill of the candidates.

  • General Knowledge

The 12 questions of General Knowledge will cover the topics such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics and Current Affairs of the past one year. This section will assess your knowledge of the recent happenings and awareness of the world.

A list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for PI-WAT process will be released on declaration of SLAT result.

The seat distribution will be governed by the reservation policy of SIU.

Note: As per the SLS Nagpur official website, 25% seats of the program will be reserved for who are domiciled in Nagpur.
