𝐎𝐜𝐭-𝐍𝐨𝐯 : Start solving questions from previous years papers and improve your time management. (This is where iQuanta Crash course will help you, for full course iQuanta student - this will be free.) - Give one mock weekly and all others same as above.
𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: Revise your cheat sheet and take a Mock everyday
𝐌𝐢𝐝 𝐍𝐨𝐯 :Crack CAT!
Note : The following strategy to be followed only if one wants to get a 99.5 +. Not for those who are aiming less.
𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 : 1 set of material (can either be a softcopy/ or a hardcopy) for practice + Take two standard mocks for analysing (after subject is over) + 1 course for application, doubt clarification and concepts. Be consistent and motivated throughout.
𝟏) Quant : Take any standard book eg CAT Hardcopy Material by iQuanta or IIM ABC CAT material by iQuanta or any coaching material if you have or you can get. Along with this some best quality questions that you can get here: https://www.iquanta.in/test/free-cat-study-material Past 24 years CAT Papers with Detailed solutions : https://www.iquanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲: Build Concept, Practice on them. Ask in case of doubts. Make note of any new things you learn. Repeat. As Arithmetic followed by Algebra has highest weightage, ie 7-8 out of 22 Questions , doing them completely will give you an edge. Solving 8-9 out of 24 questions can give you a 90%Le in CAT Quant section. For the same reason, we will be solving more than 1000 questions in arithmetic at iQuanta. Followed by Algebra, Geometry, Numbers & PNC. If you get any doubts while solving, Ask doubts on iQuanta platform, we will help you. 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐩 : No book is enough, just solve as many as you can and most importantly solve all questions being posted in CAT Preparation - iQuanta group or iQuanta Paid group, coz the questions posted in group are random which prepares you to some extent for CAT. ( even if you don't comment do solve) . [must]
𝟐) Di/Lr : All you need for cracking LRDI is the familiarity over CAT Type LRDI Sets. Means if you have solved 300-400 CAT Type LRDI sets till CAT you will be able to solve at least 50% of the sets in CAT 2023. And how much you can get by solving 50% sets in CAT exam ? 99 %le | In CAT 22 if you could solve 2 out of 4 LRDI sets you could get 99.2%le + and Solving just 1 set could give you around 91%le. So all you need to do is select the sets you can solve and solve them with patience. And to get that familiarity all you need is practice. >CAT LRDI level changed from the year 2015, even though they are tough they are just a lengthy puzzle and doesn't need lot of concepts or tricks to solve them. If you solve variety of LRDI sets it will be enough if complemented with mocks at the later stage. But what about those who want to start with basics. You can do two things.
a). Read "LRDI Strategy by iQuanta" : https://www.iquanta.in/blog/cat-lrdi-strategy-aiming-99ile/
b). Now the LRDI section from the year 2000 to 2014 weren't of Higher Level, so they are good to start with if you want your base strong for LRDI. You can solve Past CAT Papers here : https://www.iquanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers and at the later stage it will be complemented by CAT Level LRDI Sets in Mocks, sectionals or iQuanta Course. This will make you understand how to deal with a situation where all sets are tough. Forget your ego in mocks. Apart from this you may also take IIM ABC Material by iQuanta having 500 CAT Level LRDI Sets. Tip : Start with remembering squares and reciprocal of fraction and percentage calculations. Then move to basic conceptual questions.
𝟑) CAT VARC : I am assuming this year CAT will be of 2 hours, and hence there will be 16 questions on RC, which is 70% of the total VARC questions. This is a section which checks your comprehension the most, and not the vocab or the grammar. First step towards comprehension is how you can retain what you have read. Best way to exercise your mind is to start reading articles from reputed newspapers and summarise it in your mind. At the end of 2 months you'll be able to retain majority of the points from the article and that if complemented with Past papers practice is well and good. (Past CAT Papers : https://www.iquanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers
𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐀 : For VA, since there is still time, try to improve your grasp on articles from different topics by reading editorials, Aldaily, project-syndicate etc. This will strengthen your understanding of the RCs and retentive power. Specifically for CAT, try to do at least 2 RCs everyday and increase the number as the exam approaches. Practise any PJs you may encounter without options. Initially, pick any book(preferably sujit kumar) for practice and then diversify ur sources to include old mocks, tests, CAT group questions etc. Vocabulary isn't that important per se. So, instead of cramming up words, just look for the meanings once u encounter them in your daily reading. CAT 2015-2023 was all about grasping and understanding power, rather than proficiency in English. [ must ] You can go for IIM ABC CAT material by iQuanta having 500 RC sets. Apart from that we will also be doing RC 60 by Indra, which will fine tune your RC preparation. For reference you can check them here, but its not recommended to solve them right now : https://www.iquanta.in/test/free-cat-study-material
Books & Sources : iQuanta CAT Books (12 Sets) or Sujit kumar/NK sinha just for practice and in case of any doubts you can simply post on iQuanta Group to clarify.
𝟒) Vocab : Norman lewis ( optional, not necessary). Best way is to get the essence of a word rather than cramming the words. Hence while reading an article, in case of any tough words just use google to understand the essence and comprehend the passage.
𝟓) Grammar : Wren n Martin ( optional, not necessary). Not necessary for CAT, but you can refer in case you are preparing for other Non CAT exams.
𝟔) RC : Refer to Past CAT Papers : https://www.iquanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers and sectional & Mocks. For enhancing reading speed refer these 3 sites : aeon, Arts & Letters Daily, The atlantic. ( must ).

People say winners don't do different things but do things differently, I say do it with more perseverance, dedication and of course smartly - Indrajeet Singh Counselling Time : After reading this if you have any specific query regarding CAT Preparation, CAT Courses, or anything regarding profile, you may comment below, iQuanta faculties will Reply.
QA is the most popular section of CAT. You either love this section or hate it. There's no third way. One thing I would like to say to all non-engineers or anyone who gets intimidated by this section is that this is the easiest section to improve upon. There's a well-defined syllabus which covers a lot of topics which all of us have studied in Class 9th and 10th. Concept used is same just the application might differ some topics like Numbers, PNC & Algebra. Quant is also the highest scoring section of CAT with multiple iQuanta students even scoring 102/102 in CAT'19. (3 hours pattern)
Several chapters are quite simple and need just a little brush-up. A chapter like Logarithm and Series is considered to be pretty simple and you can expect 1-2 questions each from there. So, the job at hand is to realise the importance of each topics.
At iQuanta We start with Numbers because it is the base for the quants topic even though the number of questions coming directly from this topic is not much.
We then focus on Arithmetic which has the highest weightage. --Permutation & Combination comes next as it is a very logical topic and next topic Algebra is dependent on it.
-Algebra is the next topic and by this time - we are done with 80 percent of our syllabus and you are ready to rock mocks.
-Geometry comes at the end because this is something that we will be revising for a long time because of the number of theorems that we have.
While you are Learning the Concept, the right application of concepts are important, followed by Practice to get comfortable in the topic. After you are comfortable with the Topics start Timer based practice. To find out the topics which need revision, the first thing to do is to give a Quants mock test. After 2-3 tests, it becomes quite clear the topics you are weak at. Now comes how to prepare for the topics you are weak in. Only taking the exam would not suffice. Proper analysis should be done after the exam and have a look at the solutions to understand whether a particular sum could not be solved due to lack of understanding regarding the subject or is it because you forgot a relevant formula.
Follow 30% Concept Learning and 70% Application and later on practice on those topics to make you comfortable. Post that you guys can solve timer based questions on iQuanta Portal in form of assignments and Past Papers of CAT (https://www.iquanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers)
Quant is covered quite extensively in the iQuanta classes. But if you want to work on it on your own, the best way is to do one topic at a time. And when you revise the topics, keep a handbook of your cheat-sheet handy. Topic-wise tests are necessary to understand the level of competency. You can visit https://www.iQuanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers for this purpose which provides topic-wise free quants content. They do come in handy during preparation. It will help you understand if you are being able to apply the concepts or not.
Initial scores in quants are meant to be less because that is the learning phase. As you practice more and more, the speed and accuracy increase. Practicing quants regularly is a must and iQuanta CAT Facebook group provides regular practice and Doubts solving, you can join it here : https://www.facebook.com/groups/iquantacat . Normally, accuracy is an issue in quants. The CAT paper has a history of having both easy and difficult Quants paper. As long as the basics are strong, the paper would be a cakewalk.
1) Get the Concept Clarity
2) Getting acquainted with Methods of Solving
3) Apply in n number of questions
Important : Now getting acquainted with solving questions yourselves has some internal steps.
Coz Initially you might have to go through solutions when not able to solve. And that's okay. But how to get through ?
i) Attempt should be to solve it by yourselves. Let's say you were able to solve within 1-3 minutes. (Depends on difficulty/length). It's all fine. Let's suppose its going beyond 4 minutes, it means you re still slow, and needs more practice to reduce speed.
ii) If the method is not clicking or stuck in some step, you should try for 5-10 minutes before seeing the solution. If you get the solution yourselves, you'll feel great as well as you will remember it for long coz struggle was involved.
iii) If not able to solve even after spending 5-10 mins, Then you can check the solution, and mark in which step were you stuck, was it the first step or something in between. Note that step in your cheat sheet. That you'll have to revise so that the same mistake is not repeated in Future. REPEAT MODE ON till you achieve 90% accuracy
Accuracy is the key in quants. An attempt of 15 questions in 40 min with 90% accuracy will fetch you a score of 42+ which can be enough to have a 99%ile plus in quant.
Attempting the Quants Section
There are various ways in which the paper can be solved. The usual way is to scan the paper and find out the easy ones. It is often the case that students start solving from the first question and skip those which were lengthy for later. Normally when people come to this section, they are tired after solving a VARC section and a historically difficult LRDI section. The aim is to solve as many as possible and not to miss out on the easy ones.
If you get any doubts while solving, Ask doubts on iQuanta platform, we will help you.
● Expert Tip : No book is enough, just solve as many as you can and most importantly solve all questions being posted in CAT Preparation - iQuanta group or iQuanta Paid group, coz the questions posted in group are random which prepares you to some extent for CAT. ( even if you don't comment do solve) . [must]
The most important thing that you can do for yourself is to ensure you get all your doubts clarified. The problem with not getting your doubts clarified is that it builds up. By the time you notice this - there is already a huge lag. iQuanta is the best in Doubts Clarifications for the reason we make sure your doubts get clear within 30 mins, irrespective of the time you are posting your doubts, be it Night or Day. Post your doubts here :https://www.facebook.com/groups/iquantacat
The CAT paper has a history of having both easy and hard quants section. The one who holds his/her nerve to solve the last section of CAT aces it. The 2017 CAT paper had a very easy quants paper where a scaled score of 72% marks fetched 99%ile, whereas, in 2018, 99%ile was achieved at a score below 58% marks.
Hence iQuanta CAT 2024 New Batch the syllabus will get over by May-June in terms of Concepts, Applications as well as Practice, while Mocks will start in June only. Though for those starting now it is suggested to start taking mocks after 60% of your syllabus is done.
In the end it is complemented by the CAT Crash course where we work on speed, shortcuts and revise everything in last 2 months. The Crash course is Free along with full course of iQuanta CAT Course.
Many aspirants consider Logical Reasoning as the toughest part in CAT examination. Logical Reasoning questions usually come with 3/4 bits. A paragraph is given with full of information followed by 4-6 questions. You have to read the information thoroughly and apply your logic for answering these questions. The first and most important step in solving an LR problem is to write down all of the information given in a box, table or diagram. For example, if the problem involves seating arrangements at a round table, always draw the table first and then try various permutations and combinations of people seated around it. Once you have drawn the figure for the problem, you are free to think with a clear mind. LR problems usually contain several statements which serve as clues to solving the given questions. Thus, the problem should always be attempted in a methodical manner, and solved step-by-step, because trying to look at all the information at once will confuse even the best of us.
All you need for cracking LRDI is the familiarity over CAT Type LRDI Sets. Means if you have solved 300-400 CAT Type LRDI sets till CAT you will be able to solve at least 50% in CAT 2023.
And how much you can get by solving 50% sets in CAT exam ? 99 %le | In CAT 22 if you could solve 2 out of 4 LRDI sets you could get 99.2%le + and Solving just 1 set could give you around 91%le. So all you need to do is select the sets you can solve and solve them. And to get that familiarity all you need is practice.
To be honest the best thing one has to do is to solve maximum variety of sets, enough so as you are able to guess which set is doable for you and which set is not, thats it. In iQuanta mocks and sectionals, Classes and Applications there are around 700 CAT level LRDI sets overall and if one solves them all properly then they are almost through this section. Now what I mean by properly solving ? Let's see..
1. Invest some time over a question and study the question carefully before you start solving. A brief explanation of why each choice is correct or incorrect should go into your mind. If you can practice this tip in sample reasoning questions, you will do well on the actual assessment.
2. NEVER assume or use any information that the question fails to give you. This is NOT an assessment of how much you know about a subject in general! Consider ONLY the information given in each reading passage when choosing among the alternative responses.
3. Read both the factual passage and the sentence completion instruction carefully. Both must be considered in making your choice.
4. Be sure to read all the response choices carefully before eliminating or choosing one of them.

CAT VARC : Assuming CAT 2024 will be of 2 hours, and hence there will be 16 questions on RC, which is 70% of the total VARC questions. This is a section which checks your comprehension the most, and not the vocabulary or the grammar. First step towards comprehension is how you can retain what you have read. Best way to exercise your mind is to start reading articles from reputed newspapers and summarise it in your mind. you can start reading English newspapers like The Hindu or Economic Times, or online articles on Aeon or Al-daily to get used to reading long passages. But for your rescue I have provided multiple Genre wise articles from those sources from where CAT has been giving RCs in recent years with Summary. People who read a lot of novels or just like reading in general will have a head-start in this section, but with some dedicated reading practice, you can cover this gap in a few months.
Read 1 to 2 articles from the 250 Genre wise Reading Articles by iQuanta You will get them here : iConcept Materials : https://www.iQuanta.in/test/free-cat-study-material, Check Reading Materials Section there.
All you have to do is read daily 1 article at least, from any genre you wana get comfortable with. Practice 3 RCs per day, for which you can use Past CAT RCs, here Past CAT Papers:https://www.iquanta.in/test/cat-previous-papers
Supplement it with iQuanta CAT Course, VARC Section.
At the end of 2 months you'll be able to retain majority of the points from the article and that if complemented with Past papers practice is well and good.
I will suggest to follow the most conventional approach i.e. I always read the whole passage before looking at the questions. Some people read the first couple of paragraphs and then simultaneously start solving the questions. Others also first look at all the questions and then start reading the passage. For yourself, you can try all these 3 methods in the mocks and choose the one which suits you best. The most important step is absorbing and understanding what you read. Many times, when the passage is long, you'll find after reading half the text that you've already forgotten everything and need to start again. This wastes a lot of time. Even while attempting the questions, you can't revisit the whole paragraph every time. To overcome this issue, you can note down the important highlights of the paragraph while reading. This will help formulate a better structure of the content in your head and help you recall which point is mentioned where. Although, this method is advisable only in the early part of preparation. As you get used to reading and retaining long paragraphs, you will no longer need this trick.
There will be a few easy questions in which you can directly pick the correct option by reading the paragraph. Other than that, most questions in RC are very confusing with similar looking options. The first rule for solving such questions is that you leave all assumptions behind. The topic of the RC might be familiar to you, but you have to disregard everything you know while reading it. Whatever the author writes, is the truth and you've to follow that only.
Always read the question very carefully. For example, consider the following paragraph: There are 4 friends in a class. Indrajeet got 90, Sunny Rathore got 75, Lakshay got 60 & Akshat Gupta got 45.
Q. Who got the 2nd lowest marks in the class ?
There are many of us who would choose Lakshay as the answer because we are in a hurry and careless. But we made this assumption that we are only considering only these 4 friends and not the entire class. So the answer is None of these. These kinds of mistakes have a very negative impact on your score. So always make sure you understand what the question is asking.
Now, the most reliable way to solve the RC questions, in my opinion, is the method of elimination. In most questions you'll be able to eliminate two options and be left with two.
In these cases, I'd suggest you always go with your gut feeling and choose one of the two options. Another important point here is that during analysis of such questions, do read the explanation behind the answer irrespective of the fact whether you got it right or wrong. If the other option, which you had not eliminated is the correct answer, then you were at-least half-correct and you can take some confidence from it. But, if you eliminated the right answer at the beginning itself, then you are either not reading the question carefully or not understanding the passage completely or both. If this happens frequently, then you need to keep working on your reading skills.
If you’re scoring low in RCs, then don’t worry too much right now. You’ve time to get used to it and you’ll improve only with practice. There is no shortcut which will suddenly increase your marks in tests. I can’t stress enough how important it is to read the question and the explanation of the answer carefully; the latter step is obviously your analysis part. For practice, you can again follow any test series of your choice and also give sectional tests.
What has iQuanta CAT 2024 Course to offer for VARC: We will have 32 Application Sessions in VARC. 20 of the sessions are focussed on RCs. Apart from that there will be 20 Conceptual Live sessions.
In Each Application RC Session we do 4 or 5 Reading Comprehension passages with 2-3 detailed video solution ( 20 minutes each) and 2 detailed textual solution. This happens along with instant doubt clarifications in the class.
We also have regular practise sessions on RCs. Special focus in RC is on elimination of incorrect options.
[In case you want all RCs to practice at once, you can opt for iQuanta IIM ABC Course too, which has 500 RC Sets with detailed solutions.]
VA - 12 Sessions on VA with more than 60 videos in CAT Course. This is complemented by 100s of practice questions on VA along with explanation and doubt clarifications.
3-4 months of rigorous practise is followed by Mocks and Practice sessions. 20 mocks brings us to a total of 100 RCS in addition to 50 RCs in sectional test.
The Crash Course (which is free for full course students) - we focus on CR and RCs again with en enhanced speed. We will have 30 Video Passages along with 25 RCS.

In total we will cover 260+ RCs and around 500 VA Questions in class.
Final Tip for CAT VARC : Try and read for 30-45 mins - can be articles, newspaper etc. After some time when you feel comfortable start with the Past CAT RC Practice, which along with the iQuanta Explanatory RC Videos and rigorous practice will be enough to fine tune, and enhance your comprehension which if done well can easily get you a 99%le in CAT 2024.
All this comes with a 24*7 doubt solving assistance. The important part is to start now.
All these are included in CAT 2024 Full Course by iQuanta, you can be a part.
